In order to collect the data, an observation of a total 8 debatable hangouts and a semi-structured interview with 10 participants were used. The study focused on two main dimensions: hedges and report/rapport talk as an attempt to see whether differences of this kind have a stereotype use in the speech styles of men and women. 30 out of 100 participants have taken part of debatable discussions on Google+ hangouts.
